The innovative ultra-sharp steel head has been designed to split wood more efficiently. The steel has also been double-hardened so that the precision-ground edge stays sharp longer. The wider, wedge-shaped head of the ax provides more power and makes the ax easier to detach from the wood. A friction-reducing coating makes the head slide more easily through the wood, while protecting against rust. The ax head is overmolded to prevent it from coming off the shaft. X-series™ axes are almost impossible to break, thanks to the extremely strong yet lightweight FiberComp™ shafts that absorb shock and provides superb impact protection. The handle's grip zone is larger than standard and has been fitted with strategic SoftGrip™ structure. The curved end provides a secure grip on the ax throughout the swing.
